Residents near O'Hare protest noise

They say the city lied to them. The new north runway was supposed to be used only by small regional jets, they said.

What I haven't seen written is that the shift to the Park Ridge runway is also greatly caused by the wind patterns. I'm close to the inbound diagonal runway from the southwest and we only have activity when the winds are from the north or east (occasionally south). The past couple months have been amazing in the southwesterly/southerly wind patterns. So I'd be interested to see if Park Ridge thinks they are getting "relief" once those winds move back to the north and east. My two cents - I think the media is overlooking this reality, is all. Thanks for the blog.
